The Conductor

Tim Harrison

We are delighted to congratulate Tim Harrison on his appointment as our permanent conductor. Tim hails from Neath, South Wales and first came to Bristol to study music at the university, specialising in performance, composition and orchestration. He progressed to a masters degree in performance on the viola at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff and following this, continued as a post-graduate training conductor, gaining a PGDip with Distinction for his performances.

Tim now combines a career of performing as a freelance violinist with working as a secondary classroom music teacher. He is the conductor of Bristol Chamber Orchestra and Bristol Youth Orchestra. Previous conducting posts in the South West include directing Wessex Concert Orchestra, Clevedon Chamber Orchestra, Hereford Symphony Orchestra and Sinfonia Newydd (in Cardiff).
